My first standing French easel drawing was in front of a bathroom mirror, blocking the entrance.

Portrait sketches
I found that faces with clear features (such as wrinkles and contours) are the easiest to sketch.
I did these during a mysterious internet outage today.

Morton salt girl – dogfooding with a can of salt
This little girl logo on salt containers inspired me to animate it with some dynamic graphical effects (lines for rain streaks, spheres for flowing salt particles and bouncing raindrops) enabled by some experimental features I have been working on for Fresco motion.

I drew this digital oil painting on an iPad supported by a (newly purchased) French easel, with which I plan to try physical (pencil, oil, and acrylic) medium next.

Cemetery
I like to walk in a cemetery; it feels serene, solemn, and prompts me to ponder life from a different perspective.

Miner 6748
One lesson I learned from practicing portrait sketching: start from people we are not personally familiar with and gradually try close friends and family members, so that we can focus more on general practices at the start and consider specific features later on with more skills and experiences.
I spotted this photo in the photography section of SFMOMA and decided to sketch this anonymous person.
With only one device with me I couldn’t really draw from a reference photo, so I drew over instead.

This is one of my all time most favorite manga characters.
Back profile of a painter
This is a digital pencil sketch based on a reference photo which I took on December 26 2019.
