I don’t know why a museum in NY would want to invite someone living in CA to be a member – maybe there are CA folks who spend weekends in NY?
But the photo on the envelope did give me some visual idea about how things might move there.

Path-in-place effect
Also known as zero-velocity path, this is a feature in Adobe Fresco that allows the creation of a path as a single point, so that the corresponding graphical sprite is not moving but can vary in other ways such as size and orientation.
Dress profile
When I first saw this dress image in a thumbnail I thought it is a profile drawing only to find out it is actually not upon enlarging, but the idea of how much a profile view can convey the style of a dress (or many other things) stuck in my mind and I drew it here.

The scythe of time
After hiking in a nearby county park my heart seemed to have decided that it did not need to pump for more than 36 beats per minute while I was serenely reading Poe’s “the scythe of time” only to be interrupted by a buzz warning from my fitness tracker.

Visual field test
After conducting some research in visual perception I went to an eye institute for potential bugs in my visual system.

Caltrain passengers
I took a slower train to work this morning, which moved more stably and thus allowed me to draw more stably as well.
Recently I felt more spontaneity with these impromptu mobile phone drawings while stuck with attempts for more ambitious drawings on a tablet.
Maybe I just need to lower my expectation and go with the flow.

Sunset
I saw some beautiful sunsets recently but could not manage to paint them to my satisfaction so I took a photo instead and drew over it.
I enlarged the moon for emphasis, but had some difficulty drawing the craters and eventually I switched to an old face reflecting a second meaning of sunset.

Flying low
I felt a bit sleep on a late Sunday morning while reading that paper about AI consciousness and authored this motion graphics over this photo I saw a few days ago to reenergize my mind.

Natural American Spirit
This is a 3D drawing inspired by a pack of cigarettes I found while hiking.
Compared to 2D drawing, 3D drawing requires more efforts to place all these volumetric strokes, but also does not bother with the camera perspective and proportion.
